THE search for a French Bulldog that owners believe was stolen from its yard has come to a tragic end.
Owner Kimberly Breece said her dog Theo was found dead around 5.45pm on Saturday. It is not known what caused his death.
Theo disappeared from his Carrara home around 3.30pm last Wednesday, with Mrs Breece suspecting he had become the latest victim of a spate of dog-knappings on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast frenchie caught attention from social media influencers around the world as they shared pictures of the much-loved animal when it went missing.
“My phone hasn’t stopped ringing,” she said earlier today.
“A lot of celebrities and people with big followings have been sharing the post on their social media.
“There’s people sharing in every state across Australia and I’ve seen shares by people in Japan, Switzerland, the US, Canada … everywhere.”
Police originally told Ms Breece that Theo could be in another state.
Ms Breece said she was hoping to find out some information or a lead today, but unfortunately were informed of the passing of their beloved family pup.
Ms Breece has thanked everyone who has helped with the search.
The alleged dognapping was the latest in a spate of crimes where brazen thieves have targeted expensive dog breeds such as French Bulldogs.
Last September a man told The Bulletin three men tried to take his six-month-old French Bulldog from him when he was out walking, while earlier this year a family dog narrowly escaped the clutches of a thief by jumping from the stranger’s car.
