EMPOWERING women to love themselves is the goal and weight-loss is just the by-product, says Women of the Year nominee Zhanna Gee.
The entrepreneur, nutritionist and founder of Hope Island business Slim By Nature said her work has helped to create a community of women achieve a healthy body and, more importantly, a healthy mind.
“Slim By Nature is an outlet for me to make women happy,” Ms Gee said.
“The weight loss is just the first step. My job is to give women that freedom to be who they are.”

Ms Gee was nominated in the category of Wellness Warrior for her health program that helps women lose weight and boost their confidence.

She said her business began six years ago after trying to shed kilos herself.
“I started doing research on how to lose weight. I did a trial, I lost some weight, and thought ‘so many women can benefit from this’,” Ms Gee said.

“I was always entrepreneurial, I’m a product developer and I’m creative. My niche is to help women who have tried every single diet.
“Women started coming to me (to use Slim By Nature) and they saw results.
“The two girls who work for Slim By Nature used to be clients. One of them lost 28 kilos.”
Ms Gee, who speaks four languages, said winning in her category would be an award for her and her team.
“If I won, it would be an amazing achievement for everyone who is in Slim By Nature,” she said.
“The girls, myself and the clients.”
The Gold Coast Bulletin’s Women of the Year initiative is designed to honour the women who have helped build and nurture this city.
A shortlist of 24 women will be selected on January 12, nominated for categories focused on sport, charity, entrepreneurship and more.
A judging panel led by Harvey Norman CEO Katie Page and featuring a number of high profile judges will select the winners, with an awards ceremony on International Women’s Day and a special magazine released in celebration.
