An accused drink driver allegedly speeding in a luxury car has become airborne during a horrifying crash, ploughing into a phone box and parked car before hitting a woman south of the Gold Coast.

A YOUNG woman is lucky to be alive and a Gold Coast man is set to front court following a shocking crash at Fingal.
Witnesses reported seeing a man driving a silver Lexus allegedly above the speed limit on Fingal Rd at about 10pm on Saturday.
The 39-year-old Broadbeach Waters man allegedly lost control of the car at the intersection of Main Rd and Lighthouse Pde with the car becoming airborne, according to witnesses.
The Lexus hit a parked car so hard it came to rest at a 90-degree angle to where it had been, hit a 22-year-old woman and flattened a phone box.
The woman was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital where she was treated for bruising and scratches to her legs.
Tweed-Byron District Police Chief Inspector Luke Arthurs said the man recorded a positive blood alcohol reading when apprehended and breath tested following the crash.
The man was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.108, more than twice the legal limit.
Chief Insp Arthurs said the man was charged with drink-driving and driving in a manner dangerous to the public.
The man’s licence was suspended and he was bailed to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on February 11.
