Red Rooster opens new store in Adelaide’s north, with another hot on its heels, with first new stores in 15 years

A popular fast food restaurant chain has opened its first new store in more than a decade in Adelaide – and has big plans for more.

A fast food chain has opened its first new Adelaide restaurant in more than a decade - and it says more are coming.

Red Rooster opened its Blair Athol location - the fourth in Adelaide- on May 26 and has already started construction on its next restaurant at Hollywood Plaza in Salisbury Downs.

“This is the first Red Rooster to open in Adelaide in 15 years,” chief development officer Clint Ault said of the Blair Athol store. “And it’s the first of many.”

In addition to the Salisbury Downs site, Mr Ault said the company was “actively exploring several other exciting opportunities” across the state.

“We’ve seen strong sales growth across our existing Adelaide stores over the past three years - growth that has given us the confidence to expand,” he said.

“With the recent updates to our menu, including the introduction of fried chicken and our distinctive and award-winning hot honey flavour, we’ve watched customers in SA really reconnect with the brand.”

The Blair Athol store, under the management of franchise partner Agha Usman Ahmed, has generated 35 new jobs in the area.

“The support from locals has been incredible,” said Mr Ault.

“This store marks a real turning point for Red Rooster in Adelaide, and we’re just getting started.”

The Hollywood Plaza restaurant is expected to open later this year.
