A northern suburbs family has managed to avoid any injuries after a car slammed into their home overnight.
Emergency services were called to a house on President Ave in Andrews Farm just before 1am, after a car lost control, slamming into a front bedroom.
Police said the occupants were in another part of the house at the time of the crash and were not injured.
The vehicle, a Citroen sedan, caused extensive damage to the home, with firefighters called to extract the car from the building as SES crews worked to ensure the structure of the house was safe.
The driver of the Citroen, a 31-year-old Andrews Farm man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is expected to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Police are now asking anyone with information on the crash who hasn’t spoken to police to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
