Motorists in Toowoomba’s west had an interesting morning commute after a lone sheep decided to take a walk on the wild side.
Anzac Ave is the last place one would expect to see a sheep, with passers-by doing a double take as the four-legged animal sauntered through peak hour traffic.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said just after 8am police began receiving reports about the unrestrained animal wandering along Anzac Ave near Vacy St.
It truly was a case of seeing is believing as one commuter managed to capture Toowoomba police attempting to round up the sheep, as it continued at speed towards Tor St.
The QPS spokeswoman said officers managed to catch up to the animal, cornering it at a nearby property on Tor St before it was taken to an animal shelter by council officers.
Despite the ruckus, no man or sheep were injured.
