A teenager has lost his life after his car crashed into a tree in the state’s north.
Emergency services were called to Left Bank Road, Mullumbimby, northwest of Byron Bay, about 7.10pm on Sunday following reports of a crash
Police from Tweed/Byron were told a car had left the road and crashed into a tree.
Community members assisted the driver from the car and commenced CPR prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Despite best efforts from locals and NSW paramedics, the teenager died at the scene.
The teen, believed to be a 19-year-old, has not formally been identified.
Officers from Tweed/Byron police district established a crime scene and are investigating the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
