A trio of northern NSW teens are accused of launching a sickening assault on a young man inside an abandoned building, leaving the 19-year-old badly injured.

A group of northern NSW teens stand accused of launching a sustained and sickening assault on a young man inside an abandoned building.
Police allege three teens and the 19-year-old entered an abandoned building on Byron St at Inverell, a remote northern NSW township some 300 kilometres inland from Lismore about 11.30am on Wednesday.
When they arrived, New England Police District officers were told the young man was allegedly bashed and tortured inside the building.
He was treated for injuries including bruising, lacerations, burns and welts to his body.
Following investigations, a 16-year-old boy approached officers at Inverell Police Station about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Two more boys aged 16 and 17 were arrested and taken to the same police station early Thursday morning.
The trio were charged with take/detain in company with intent to get advantage occasion (and causing) actual bodily harm.
They were all refused bail to face the Children’s Court of NSW on Thursday.
Investigations continue and police have urged anyone with information to approach local police or to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
