Man, woman charged with pursuit, driving, traffic, goods suspected stolen and resisting police after failing to show ID
A dog was killed and two people arrested after they were accused of hiding from police in a paddock following a pursuit in the state’s north.

A man on outstanding warrants and a woman who allegedly failed to produce identification when police pulled them over in North Lismore on Monday are accused of fleeing before officers found them in a paddock with a child and dog.
In a statement police said officers observed a Ford Territory SUV on Terania St, North Lismore, on Monday about 5.30pm.
They proceeded to pull the vehicle over on nearby Wilson St where officers saw a 32-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman who they allege swapped seats and refused to produce identification.
The man allegedly resisted police’s attempts to arrest him and the pair is accused of fleeing, prompting a police pursuit.
Additional police aided in a search where the Ford was found abandoned at Bentley, 21km from Lismore.
“A search was conducted with the assistance of a police dog, and the man and woman were arrested after being found hiding in a paddock with a six-year-old child and three dogs,” police said in a statement.
“During the arrest, one of the dogs was killed by police after attacking the police dog.”
The pair was taken to Lismore police station and charged.
The woman was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, driver’s licence expired more than two years ago, unlawfully possessing number plates, using a motor vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed, drive with one passenger seatbelt/restraint not properly fastened and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
The man was charged with licence expired more than two years ago, drive with one passenger seatbelt/restraint not properly fastened, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, using a motor vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen. Two outstanding warrants were also executed.
Both are due to face Lismore Local Court on Tuesday.
