A man has had his driver’s licence immediately suspended after he was allegedly caught drink driving at more than six times the legal alcohol limit in the Tweed.

A man has had his driver’s licence suspended after he was allegedly caught drink driving at more than six times the legal alcohol limit. in the Tweed.
The 51-year-old has been charged with high-range drink driving after Tweed-Byron Highway Patrol pulled his vehicle over on Lakes Dr at Tweed Heads West about 3.50pm on Saturday.
Police allege they were patrolling “when they stopped a vehicle driving at slow speed”.
Police allege the man blew positive on a roadside breath test and was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.
It’s alleged a follow-up test returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.314.
The man’s driver’s licence was immediately suspended and he was ordered to face Tweed Heads Local Court on August 12.
