In a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood flick, a wild police pursuit in the state’s north saw one officer end up with a badly slashed arm and a wanted man falling from a roof and breaking a leg.
At about 1.30am on Monday, police attended a home on Shearman Dr, Goonellabah, after receiving a tip off a man wanted on an outstanding warrant was there.
A man allegedly tried to escape yet fell from the gutter after gaining access to the roof.
The 28-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.
He was then taken to Lismore Base Hospital with a suspected broken leg and remains under police guard.
While attempting to gain entry to the property a male officer suffered a nasty laceration to his right arm.
He was taken to Lismore Base Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery.
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman at the property, also wanted on outstanding warrants.
She was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court later today.
