A North Coast man has been accused of smashing his way into a home and leaving blood, fingerprints and an abandoned Nike TN shoe behind. He’s also accused of an opportunistic car theft.

An East Ballina man has been accused of smashing his way into a home and leaving blood, fingerprints and a Nike TN shoe behind.
Corey James Felton has also been accused of an opportunistic car theft.
The 27-year-old man faced Ballina Local Court in custody over videolink on Thursday.
Richmond Police allege a person hopped out of his silver Hyundai and left the engine running on James St at Ballina on March 30.
Felton allegedly jumped into the car and drove off about 6pm.
Officers attached to Operation Mongoose allege they spotted Felton driving the stolen car on River St about 12.15pm the following day.
Police state they followed the Hyundai and arrested Felton at a service station on the Bruxner Highway at West Ballina, before he was taken to Ballina Police Station.
Officers allegedly found 0.37 grams of methamphetamine and a strop of buprenorphine in Felton’s pockets.
He has pleaded guilty to one count each of driving without a licence, having goods in custody and possessing a prohibited drug.
But Felton has pleaded not guilty to stealing a car, having stolen goods and possessing a prescribed restricted drug.
Earlier, in October last year, Felton denied breaking and entering a home and stealing items valued at less than $60,000, as well as failing to appear in accordance with bail.
Police allege Felton broke into a Moree home and took jewellery – two watches and three rings.
The victim received a call from a woman before the break-in claiming his brother’s home had been targeted.
He left and returned to find his home broken into. A bedroom window was shattered and police found the black sneaker on a window sill.
“Blood was sighted across the window and frame,” police state.
A trail of blood was found through the home and a jewellery box was missing.
Authorities also found a drill that did not belong to the residents.
Police allege a neighbour reported Felton leaving the home and described his appearance to the victim of the break-in, who already knew Felton.
Court documents state police have found prints and blood samples to match Felton.
Police arrested him at Ballina Motel following the alleged break-in.
Felton’s family attended court in support and waved at him from the public gallery during proceedings.
The case was adjourned to May 23.
