Ballina: Woman, 60, charged over the crash death of an 87-year-old passenger on Teven Road
Police have charged a female driver involved in a horrific head-on crash near Ballina in November where a passenger died a week later. Here is what we know.

A North Coast woman behind the wheel of a car involved in a horror head-on crash in the state’s north last year will now face charges over the crash.
Richmond Police District officers were called to reports of a serious crash on Teven Rd, near Shaw’s Lane, Teven, 10km northwest of Ballina at about 3.30pm on Monday November 4.
Three women and a man were rushed to hospital.
The driver of a Hyundai, a 60-year-old woman, and her front passenger, an 87-year-old woman, both suffered minor injuries.
The women were treated at the scene and taken in stable conditions by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital.
An 87-year-old man, who was sitting in the back of the Hyundai, was treated for multiple serious injuries by paramedics who then tasked the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s critical care medical team to the site.
He was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
It is understood the man suffered a cardiac arrest and unfortunately died at Lismore Base Hospital on November 11.
A 62-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan, suffered minor injuries.
Following investigations by the Far North Coast Crash Investigation Unit, police charged the Hyundai driver on Monday with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and not keep left of dividing line.
Police have also suspended the woman’s licence.
She is due to face Ballina Local Court on May 1.
