Police allege a Northern Rivers man bit a police officer and scratched another constable while being arrested for breaching bail over a domestic violence-related incident.

Adam Reeca Paget, 39, appeared in custody before Magistrate Michael Dakin at Lismore Local Court on Tuesday.

Officers were called to a home on Tooloom St at Urbenville, about 60km northwest of Casino, about 8pm on Sunday, according to Richmond Police District.

It’s alleged Paget breached bail conditions at the time.

“As he was arrested, the man allegedly assaulted two police officers, one of which received a bite wound to his hand,” police said in the wake of the alleged incident.

Paget faces a raft of charges, including wounding police.
