Who’s who of Brisbane fashion crowned

Some of Queensland’s most influential fashionistas have been recognised in following the Women in Fashion Awards.

Some of Queensland’s most influential fashionistas have been recognised in a colourful lunch in Brisbane.

Those named in the fifth annual Women in Fashion Awards included: Jo Boon (best dressed); Sonia Stradiotto (designer); Brooke Falvey (model); and Cate Massi (stylist).

Meanwhile, Brisbane Fashion Festival won standout fashion event of the year, and Women’s Legal Service the best charity.

Upma Kite, director of Women in Fashion, said the long lunch, MCd by Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi and held at Lina Rooftop in South Brisbane, was “nothing short of magical”.

The event was also attended by Brisbane’s Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner, Stefan general manager Rose King and TV personality Kendall Gilding, and raised more than $6000 for Women’s Legal Service.

A highlight was a Q&A session hosted by Di Cant OAM with style director Kimberley Gardner, TAFE fashion educator Janelle Rayner and businesswoman Fleur Madden.
