The Gap State High School evacuated after fire at grounds
The Gap State High School has been evacuated after a fire broke out in a building with firefighters working to contain the blaze.

Firefighters are working to contain a fire that has reportedly ignited within the grounds of a state high school in Brisbane’s north.
Emergency services were called to a reported structure fire at The Gap State High School at Waterworks Rd, The Gap at 4.02pm.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said crews were called out in response to initial reports of smoke coming from a building, on a site near the intersection of Pammay St and Col Miller Dr.
“Crews have made entry and are still working on suppression of a fire,” the spokesman said. “It looks like everyone has been accounted for.”
The fire was extinguished at 5pm.
It is understood that the fire ignited within the grounds of The Gap State High School.
In a statement posted on social media, a Gap State High School representative said all events planned at the school this evening have been cancelled.
“Please note that all events being held at The Gap SHS this evening have been cancelled,” the post read.
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
