Twelve people charged, six released after protest over Brisbane death in custody
Six of the people arrested during a protest in Brisbane on Friday following the death of a woman in custody that was found to be from natural causes have been released without charge.

Six protesters arrested after a group swarmed Brisbane’s police headquarters, labelling Queensland cops “murderers” following a death in custody that was found to be from natural causes, have been released without charge.
They were part of an almost 100-person strong Black Lives Matter protest that shut down Roma St yesterday, after the death of an Indigenous woman in the Brisbane Watchhouse.

The group staged a demonstration outside the city’s biggest police station, where they marked the outside of the building with red handprints and the word “murder”.
The protesters chanted “racist dogs”, “f*** the police” and “blood on your hands” before clashing with officers outside the Arrest Courts at Roma Street.
Of the 18 people who were arrested during the protest on Friday, six people were released without charge, after being detained for breaching the peace.
There were 11 people granted watchhouse bail yesterday after being charged and one person was issued with a notice to appear in court on November 12.
The group were charged with graffiti offences, obstructing traffic, obstructing police and wilful damage.
One person was charged for obstructing police.
Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd yesterday assured the public the death was being investigated by the internal police watchdog – Ethical Standards Command – and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
He said the woman had died of natural causes but the incident would be thoroughly investigated.
