Sunshine Coast community mourns beloved Coolum Coles mum, Susan Bald
A family in anguish is asking for help as the sudden death of their ‘bubbly’, ‘beautiful’ and well-known mum and wife has sent shockwaves through a Sunshine Coast community.

A Sunshine Coast community is reeling after the sudden and shocking death of a beloved “bubbly”, “beautiful”, and “always smiling” mother who worked at a supermarket.
Susan Bald, of Coolum Beach, died suddenly on December 30 last year.
In the wake of her death, her daughter Kelly Bald launched a GoFundMe campaign.
“We’ve created a GoFundMe to help us fund a funeral as well as general costs of living after we lost the most beautiful soul from our lives,” she said.
“Anything and everything helps and it is so so appreciated.
“Help support the Bald family in memory of highly beloved mother, wife and daughter Sue.
“We are looking raise enough to help with funeral and memorial arrangements, as well as to help with the costs of living during this difficult time.
The GoFundMe has raised more than $3000.
On Facebook her other daughter Amanda Corinne Bald also shared a tribute.
“Mum I am absolutely guttered and broken beyond words,” she said.
“Your presence may have left this world but your love and memories will forever dwell in my heart.
“Rest in peace.”
Other tributes for the Coolum Beach Coles worker have flowed online.
“A lovely friend. I called her bubbly self-service Sue at Coles, Coolum,” Kylie Goossens said.
“This is so sad. She always made smile,” Tania Stephens said.
Peta Grylls said she was “such a beautiful human”.
“Rest in peace beautiful lady,” Lyndal Gibson said.
“Rest in peace my beautiful self-serve twin … I will miss you more than you know,” Sharon Parchert said.
Natalie McIvor said she was “very sad” to hear of her death.
“Sue has been a shining light and so friendly — she lit up Cole’s every time I saw her she told me about some health challenges but was always positive and cared about others,” she said.
“Suey would be the first to help someone, she would have given the shirt off her back to anyone that needed it,” Jo Mackenzie said.
Gabby Petersen said her death was “heartbreaking” and “we lost a beautiful soul”.
“Such a loving soul,” Tanealle Woods said.
The Bald family declined to comment but said they “appreciate the support”.
