WILD videos captured during unofficial Gold Coast Schoolies celebrations show young school leavers clinging to moving police cars, fleeing from officers, crowd-surfing and hosting raucous balcony dance parties.

The behaviour of the graduates – ranging from unruly to occasionally illicit – filmed by their peers and distributed on social media platforms comes after a number of balcony fall deaths, sexual assaults, drug offending and other incidents reported in recent years.

Notably, three teenagers have died after plunging from balconies during Gold Coast Schoolies celebrations since 2012.

SCHOOLIES: CAR SMASHED AFTER FIRST NIGHT OF CELEBRATIONS

Last year, Melbourne teen Charlie Scott, 18, died after he fell from a high-rise balcony at the Hilton tower and in 2018 Sydney’s Hamish Bidgood, 18, fell to his death from a balcony at Surf Regency Holiday Apartments.

Six years earlier, Brisbane teen Isabelle Colman, 17, died after falling from a balcony at the nearby Chevron Renaissance during celebrations in 2012.

One video shows a teen wearing a Borat-style “mankini” throwing themself on the sand in front of cheering peers, seemingly showing off their amateur acrobatics.

The second video shows a smoky balcony dance party, with teens bouncing to dance tracks next to a fairly low railing.

Next, a teenager is seen clinging to a police car moving along a beach as someone screams with laughter and cheers them on.

Police try to chase down the teen, but they dart away and one officer faceplants into the sand as they try and fail to tackle the graduate.

Another clip shows a teen throwing themselves into a throng of graduates to crowd surf, while a group is also seen mucking around with large dumpsters and other street infrastructure.

Schoolies celebrations on the Gold Coast were cancelled by the State Government earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But that has not stopped some graduates descending on the Gold Coast for the rite-of-passage, which began at Broadbeach in the 70s.

Despite the antics of some school leavers, authorities praised the behaviour of the majority of the crowd earlier this week.
