NEARLY 20,000 people have flown into Queensland's domestic airports since the Public Health Directive limiting travel was issued just one month ago.

Of that number, 664 arrived yesterday – eight were directed to quarantine and only one was denied entry.

Coronavirus Qld Budget impact is $4 billion

Since March 27, of the 19,827 people who flew into the state from within Australia, 3,213 have been directed to quarantine, while only 59 have been refused entry.

A significant number of those flying in are residents returning back to their homes from other parts of the country.

Today’s police figures come as Queensland has again reported zero new cases for the third time since the peak of the pandemic hit the Sunshine State.

Although case numbers are down, police are still issuing plenty of infringement notices to those doing the wrong thing.

In the 24 hours until 12.01am today, officers handed out 67 fines for those breaching public health directions – taking the state's total number of fines to 1535 – a total of at least $2.04 million.

Police again cracked down on non-essential businesses with 65 compliance checks done on businesses that have been ordered to shut during the pandemic, while only nine compliance checks were carried out on individuals in quarantine.

Just over 3000 (3,031) vehicles were stopped at road entries into Queensland, whole 36 of those vehicles were forced to turn back.

Of those allowed into the state, 67 people were issued a direction to quarantine.
