A 50-year-old Gympie region man “deprived’ his daughter of her childhood by raping her when she was as young as four, and exposing her to pedophilic imagery and bestiality, a court has heard.
The sickening details of his abuse were revealed in the Gympie District Court on Monday. The man cannot be named for legal reasons to protect the identity of his victim.
Crown Prosecutor Alex Stark said the abuse started when the girl was four years old.
Over the next four-and-a-half years her father’s “repeated” behaviour included orally raping her “multiple times” and sexually touching her in the shower.
These occurred “regularly”, Mr Stark said.
The court heard the man also showed her pornography – primarily between “adult men and little girls”, particularly fathers and daughters – on his laptop, as well as footage of “depraved” bestiality including one of a woman and a dog in which he suggested the girl “could do the same” with her “angel dog” that had just died.
He also “bribed” her with Coca Cola, dressed her in lingerie, emotionally and psychologically manipulated her, and tried to “normalise” and “idealise” the sexual abuse as “special daddy daughter time”.
The man also told her about “hotels in Russia” where “fathers and daughters would stay together”.
Some of the abuse was filmed on his mobile phone, Mr Stark told the court.
He also kept a box of sex toys under his bed which he would “rub” on her genitalia.

Mr Stark said besides the “repeated oral rape” there were repeated occasions of anal rape.
The man’s defence lawyer told the court he had given “consistent expressions of remorse” and “regret”, to which Judge Gary Long replied he was sure the man was “very regretful of all of this coming to light”.
He had no criminal history, the court heard.
The man’s lawyer told the court his working career had included time working in the public sector, and defence.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, as well as indecent treatment of a child of lineal descent under 16 by filming, and maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child.
Judge Long adjourned the sentencing overnight and on Tuesday threw the legal book at him, saying his crimes were abhorrent and an egregious abuse of trust.
The court said they stopped when the girl confronted him about his actions in her late teens.
He then responded in text message by saying his daughter did not have a place in the family anymore, and sending a picture of a shotgun saying he was going to kill himself, the court was told.
Judge Long sentenced the man to 11 years jail, noting it was serious violent offending against the girl.
There was no parole eligibility or release date set and no part of the sentence to be suspended, with the court noting the man had already served 579 days in pre-sentence custody.
