A LUXURY real estate agent who sells mansions to millionaires in some of the swankiest Gold Coast suburbs has been banned from working in the industry for three years after allowing her struck-off agent mother to negotiate the sale of a property.

Island Realty owner, Sarah Penney-Filippini sells million-dollar homes in some of the most exclusive locales, including Sovereign Islands.

She was last week ordered by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal to pay $3000 for failing to comply with trust account obligations.

She was also banned from working as an agent for three years after the tribunal found Penney-Filippini acted unprofessionally allowing her unlicensed mother, Heather Filippini, to interact with a potential purchaser and negotiate a sale of another home in 2012, after she was permanently banned from operating as a real estate agent in 2009.

Despite the fact Penney-Filippini manages six employees and has 50 active listings of properties for sale, she must not sell property for three years from October.
