Boy Swallows Universe and Vikings star Travis Fimmel has been spotted soaking up the sun and action at a surfing contest on the Gold Coast.
Dressed in a T-shirt, cargo shorts and backwards cap, the heart-throb actor posed for selfies with punters at the Gold Coast Open World Surf League event at Burleigh Heads.
Well-known Coast lawyer and Burleigh surfer Alan Dick was among excited fans to get pics with the star.
The Gold Coast Open is a World Qualifying Series event featuring some of the world’s top up-and-coming male and female surfers.
Fimmel starred as Lyle Orlik, stepdad of protagonist Eli Bell, in the smash-hit Netflix adaptation of acclaimed Brisbane novelist Trent Dalton’s award-winning book Boy Swallows Universe which recently hit the small screen.
The Aussie actor and former Calvin Klein model found fame as Thor Ragnarok in the popular History Channel series Vikings and has also starred in Warcraft, Raised by Wolves and Black Snow, a murder mystery series filmed in North Queensland in 2022.
Fimmel joined forces with MasterChef winner turned judge and restaurateur Andy Allen to launch a new low-carb, mid-strength beer called Travla which was launched at last year’s Gold Coast Open.
He was filmed surfing in a YouTube ad for the beer.
Finnel wasn’t the only celebrity spotted on the Gold Coast today.
Pop star Pink’s hubby, motocross ace Carey Hart, was also spotted out and about on the Glitter Strip as his wife prepared for the second of her two concerts at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
Hart took part in an Indian motorcycle ride from the brand’s Gold Coast dealership at Arundel to the Iron & Resin Garage at Currumbin, a popular cafe and burger bar hangout for motorbike enthusiasts.
Pink and Hart caused a stir this week when they roared out of their luxury Langham Hotel digs in Surfers Paradise for a motorbike spin around the Coast.
