Big swells set to continue as temperatures hot up in southeast

It’s not only the swells on the rise in southeast Queensland this weekend, it’s the mercury too. CURRENT TEMPERATURES

Forget Big Wednesday – it was Frothing Friday on the Gold Coast yesterday as big swells turned the entire Glitter Strip into a surfer’s paradise.

And the southeast is set for a weekend of more wild waves and even warmer weather.

Lifeguards closed the Coast’s northern beaches because of treacherous conditions yesterday, but hundreds of boardriders packed the southern point breaks to lap up perfect 2m waves whipped up by ex-Cyclone Lucas.
