The CLP’s crusade to crack down on crime and red tape continued, with third-party merit reviews officially scrapped on Tuesday, and legislation reinstating minimum mandatory sentencing for certain DVO offences introduced on Wednesday.
Reforms to the Sacred Sites Act were also revealed on Thursday, and have drawn sharp criticism from an Aboriginal land council which says it’s been “disrespected” by the minister.
Meanwhile fallout from the ICAC’s investigation into police recruitment continues to test the government’s leadership.
