Northern Territory women, we want to hear from you.

For the first time in 2024, the NT News is launching the Woman of the Year awards brought to you by Charles Darwin University and nominations are open on International Womens Day.

The awards are an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the inspirational, influential and innovative women of the Northern Territory.

You can nominate yourself or someone deserving you know now.

There are nine categories for those women who go above and beyond to make our community and the Northern Territory a better place.

NT News Woman of the Year 2024 nominations are now open.

The nine categories are:

– Angels Among Us (for the selfless who devote time and energy to helping others for no attention or reward) sponsored by Power and Water Corporation.

– Champions of Education (for those who are more than a teacher passionate for education and support of youth) sponsored by GTNT Group.

– Champions of Sport (for the backbone or local sport dedicated to organising or volunteering or simply achieving on the field or in play) sponsored by Steeline GRP.

– First Nations Person (recognising significant achievement made by First Nations women across all sectors of the community) sponsored by McArthur River Mining, a Glencore company.

– Industry Professionals (for ladies at the top of their field and leaders, working across all industries including resources, construction, finance, ICT, real estate, legal services or medical) sponsored by NEC

– Stars of Tourism and Hospitality (for those setting new benchmarks, innovating in tourism or tireless in keeping the NT top of mind as the tourism capital) sponsored by Mindil Beach Casino Resort

– Public Sector (recognising outstanding service by an employee of Commonwealth, state or local governments) with sponsorship and support still available for this award.

From these categories, all finalists in each category also go into a ‘People’s Choice’ award – voted by ntnews.com.au readers and the top honour ‘Woman of the Year’.

– People’s Choice (the NT community holds the power to determine this winner through their votes, making this a truly empowering opportunity for all to recognise and celebrate the exceptional individuals who are making a difference) brought to you by the Northern Territory Government

– Woman of the Year (the highly prestigious NT News Woman of the Year award for 2024) brought to you by Charles Darwin University.

Nominations open on International Womens Day – Friday, March 8, 2024 and close April 5.

A luncheon and awards ceremony to reveal the winners will be held at Mindil Beach Casino Resort on Friday, May 10 from midday to 3pm.

HOW TO ENTER

To participate in the award nomination process, please use the below form to either self-nominate or nominate someone else. Prior to entering the competition, carefully read the terms and conditions of entry. If you are self-nominating or nominating on behalf of someone who is under 18 years of age, please ensure that you have obtained the consent of a parent or guardian of that individual before entering the competition.

Entries must be submitted using the form below.

Must be residents of the Northern Territory.

The nomination period commences on 08/03/2024 at 12.01am AEST and concludes on 05/04//2024 at 5.00pm AEST. Entries must be received by the Promoter prior to the competition close date and time.
