Police have released fresh details as they use personal belongings including clothing and a paperback novel to help ID the mysterious remains of a woman found at Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Police investigating human remains found at a popular North Coast beach have now revealed the body parts belonged to a woman aged about 50 to 60, but she remains unidentified.
NSW Police Strike Force Osbox was established to identify human remains located in the sand dunes behind Jetty Beach at Coffs Harbour at the end of last month.
Officers have now renewed an appeal to the public for help and fresh details were announced on Tuesday.
Coffs/Clarence Police District states officers found the remains dressed in a Bras N Things-branded singlet top and blue denim jeans.
“Inquiries have established that the remains appear to be those of a 50-60-year-old female, who is believed to have died sometime between 2020 and 2023,” a police spokesperson said.
Strike Force investigators also revealed other items of interest found in searches of the nearby area. That includes silver earrings, hair clips, a Target-branded blue and white striped button up shirt, a Harvey World Travel backpack, a Laura Jones-branded wallet, reading glasses and a paperback book titled The Butterfly Summer.
“There are no matches between the human remains and missing person reports in the area,” the spokesperson said.
Police were continuing forensic testing on Tuesday morning.
