Lismore Shopping Centre, Goonellabah IGA, Kingscliff Beach Hotel Covid venues of concern

New venues have been reported by NSW Health as venues of concern, with one listed as close contact for exposure last Sunday.

Lismore residents barred entry into Queensland after one positive COVID-19 case

Two shopping centres in the Lismore area and a Kingscliff pub are the latest venues of concern in relation to positive Covid cases across the North Coast.

A spokeswoman for NSW Health said anyone who attended the following venue at the times listed is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there, regardless of the result.

  • Kingscliff Beach Hotel 102 Marine Parade, Kingscliff Sunday September 19, 4-9pm.

NSW Health sends a text message to people who have checked in at close-contact venues with further information.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed are considered a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until they get a negative result.

  • Lismore Shopping Square Cnr Uralba St & Brewster St Tuesday September 14, 12.45pm-2.30pm
  • Prouds Jewellers Shop 63, Lismore Shopping Square, Uralba St & Brewster St Tuesday September 14, 1pm-1.40pm
  • Woolworths Shop 71, Lismore Shopping Square, Uralba St & Brewster St Tuesday September 14, 1.40-2.15pm
  • Goonellabah IGA X-press Rous Road Tuesday September 14, 5.30-6pm.

Health officials state if you are directed to get tested for COVID-19 or self-isolate at any time, you must follow the rules given to you by Health staff, whether or not the venue or exposure setting is listed on the NSW Health website.

Extra testing clinics will be open this week at Byron Bay and Ewingsdale, located at:

QML Drive through testing clinic – TAFE NSW Kingscliff, 806 Cudgen Road, open from 10:30am to 4pm.

QML Drive through testing clinic – Cavanbah Sports Ground, Ewingsdale Road, Byron Bay, open from 10am-4pm.

There is also a pop-up vaccination clinic available at Goonellabah for the general public.

The Goonellabah COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will be located at the Goonellabah Child and Family Health Centre, 37 Oliver Ave, Goonellabah with appointments from 8,30am to 3pm Tuesday – Friday September 21-24.

Health officials said those aged 12 years and above are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination.

The clinic will provide Pfizer vaccinations for the general public, and people will need to book their appointment via the Commonwealth Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder (previously eligibility checker) to make a booking. You can also call Health Direct on 1800 571 155 for assistance to book.

Anyone who has been in Greater Sydney or Lismore or other areas which have stay at home restrictions are required to abide by the stay at home restrictions even after they leave that area.

Stay at home restrictions mean you can only leave your residence for essential reasons, including shopping for food, medical care, getting vaccinated, compassionate needs, exercise and work or tertiary education if you can’t work or study at home.

Anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms is urged to immediately come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.
