Hollywood icon Jane Fonda is already planning her next trip.
Headlining a Wanderlust True North Series event at ICC Sydney on Sunday night, Fonda told The Daily Telegraph: “I am going to come back.”
Fonda, 87, dished on life both on and off screen as the two-time Academy Award winner spoke In Conversation with veteran journalist Liz Hayes.
“Someone has invited me to go trekking in some place that is very beautiful in the outback,” she said.
“I can’t wait. It has been a wonderful trip.”
Fonda, who took to the stage at a similar event in Melbourne on Thursday, is due to fly home to the United States on Monday.
“I’ll tell you what, I love Australia but it is very hard being here and looking at what is happening in my country, my city, my state. It is hard,” she said.
“I go home tomorrow and I’ll just go home and raise a ruckus.”
Her father, Henry Fonda, won an Academy Award for 1981’s On Golden Pond while she secured her two for Klute in 1972 and Coming Home in 1979.
Some of her big Hollywood films include Barbarella, 9 to 5, Julia, Monster In Law, Book Club and Georgia Rule.
Fonda has also won two BAFTAs, seven Golden Globes and an Emmy and has received Grammy and Tony Award nominations.
Earlier this year she received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, delivering a fiery speech in which she called for empathy in difficult political times.
On top of her illustrious acting career, Fonda is known for her work as a political and environmental activist and champion for equality.
Before arriving in Australia, Fonda sat down for a longer-form wide-ranging interview with the Telegraph in which she said she did not fear “cancel culture”.
“At 87, so they cancel me,” she said.
“I have been cancelled so many times, and I come back.”
