“Some Leppington & Inner West Line trains may be diverted via Regents Park.”
A NSW Transport spokeswoman said the timetable is expected to recover before the afternoon peak.
A commuter on the line told The Daily Telegraph the 9.28am express train from Parramatta to the city only made it to Clyde before stopping at a red signal due to the power supply issue at Auburn.
He said several rail workers dressed in hi-viz uniforms were seen walking east alongside the rail line from Clyde to an area near the former Clyburn rail platform.
He said the cancelled and delayed rail services has created overcrowding on bus services departing Parramatta.
More to come.
