A Northern Territory baker allegedly threw a metal chair at a man and threatened to kill him near Lismore.
Anthony John Fing, 26, appeared in custody at Lismore Local Court before Deputy Registrar M Everson on Monday.
Fing was charged with entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse, stalk/intimidate with an intention to cause fear of physical harm, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He is yet to enter pleas for those charges. However, he did plead guilty to four counts of driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period.
Fing told police he was a baker from the NT and was visiting family at time of his driving offending, court documents state.
On April 10, police allege Fing entered a property on William Blair Ave, Goonellabah, and threatened a man.
According to police facts, Fing, accompanied by another person, allegedly entered the man’s fenced yard about 1.30pm.
Allegedly wielding a stick and a metal chair frame, Fing allegedly yelled: “Yeah we’ll kill you, you white dog” before abusing Davies through the closed flyscreen door, the facts state.
The alleged victim, fearing for his safety, attempted to keep the door closed, facts continue.
Shortly after, Davies exited the house, and Fing allegedly threw the metal chair frame, striking Davies in the ribs.
The impact caused a laceration and immediate pain, police facts state.
Fing allegedly fled after police had been called.
Police attended and obtained details from the alleged victim, who later provided a written statement.
An apprehended violence order application has been made to protect the alleged victim.
On March 8, Fing was stopped for a random breath test (RBT) on Ballina Road and admitted to driving whilst disqualified.
His Northern Territory licence was disqualified until May 13, 2024, police facts state.
Fing was granted bail and is due to reappear in Lismore Local Court for further mention at a later date.
He is due to be sentenced for the driving offences on July 14.
