NT POLICE are seeking witnesses in relation to an incident in which a vehicle being driven at dangerous speeds ran red lights and veered onto the wrong side of the road in Darwin last month.
Police report that on Thursday, April 22, between 6pm and 6.30pm, an 18-year-old woman behind the wheel of a yellow Holden SS Commodore was observed to be driving erratically and running multiple red lights at a number of major intersections.
There was also one passenger inside the car.
Police say the driver ran a red light at the intersection of Roystonea Avenue and Temple Terrace, then lost control and crashed the vehicle at the corner of Roystonea Avenue and Owston Avenue.

Both the driver and passenger were uninjured.
NT Police Senior Sergeant Paul Faustmann said officers wanted to speak to anyone who had witnessed the incident.
“This type of driving is exactly how fatalities occur in our community and it is utterly reprehensible. It is complete dumb luck that no one was killed,” he said.
“The vehicle was observed to be driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, forcing other drivers to take evasive action resulting in a number of near misses along Stuart Highway, Berrimah Road, Wishart Road, Kirkland Road and Roystonea Avenue.
“Police would like to speak to those drivers in particular. Please contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number 9665588.”
