Highly respected Alice Springs police officer and community advocate Jermaine Ostrofski has been named the 2025 NT Young Achiever of the Year for his courageous service.
The proud Wulli Wulli man and openly gay leader has played a key role in strengthening relationships between Indigenous communities and law enforcement.
His work recently won him the NT Aboriginal Community Police Officer of the Year Award and his service was also marked with the NT Police Valour Award for bravery.
Beyond his day job, he’s also the LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation state coordinator and a volunteer coach at Riding for the Disabled.
It’s these leadership roles as well as commitment to remote community police and crisis response in Central Australia that earned Mr Ostrofski the nod in the overall award.
He also won the Aurizon Indigenous Achievement Award from a strong field of young achievers at the Mindil Beach Casino Resort event in front of almost 400 guests on Friday night.
Other winners included Jules Gabor who won the prestigious NT government Excellence in Youth Leadership Award for her role as a youth advocate.
The event producer and community leader has committed herself to empowering young people and at just 19 was named the Darwin Young Citizen of the Year and NT News Cultural and Recreational Leader of the Year.
Ms Gabor is also a UNICEF Australia Young Ambassador and has represented the Territory on national platforms while locally, she’s run major events such as Geektacular 2025.
Sabrina Doha won the Charles Darwin University International Student Award having proven herself as a dedicated researcher, mentor and community leader.
Ms Doha is a master of IT graduate, with her thesis applying machine learning to cybersecurity to address critical industry challenges, while she also has played a key role in organising cultural events.
Meanwhile, Hanky Panky Lounge and Bar Kokomo owner Anneliese Grazoli won the Small Business Achievement Award being one of the most influential figures in the hospitality scene.
Each category winner will receive a 30 minute strategy call with DMT coaching and a 10 per cent discount on the Empowered Mind Coaching Program.
