On Guard: The killing of Carl Williams

The daughter of slain crime kingpin Carl Williams has stunned her social media followers by posing for a topless picture alongside her mum and a friend.

Dhakota Williams shared a photo to her Instagram in which she was wearing nothing but underwear and sporting bright pink acrylic nails.

The 21-year-old, who celebrated her birthday in March, also held onto a balloon featuring the words “Birthday Princess” and she posed for the happy snap next to her mum Roberta.

“Birthday suit,” she captioned the photo.

The belated birthday photo comes after Ms Williams celebrated the day with an all-pink affair at Melbourne’s ritzy Emerson rooftop club back in March.

The party included a personalised cocktail list, curiously coloured treats and a giant wall feature covered with balloons.

Friends and family could choose to drink a “Pisces SZN” (Chambord Margarita) or “Birthday Baby” (espresso martini), while gold-flecked paddle pops engraved with “Dhakota” were also on offer.

Ms Williams has over 37,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares snippets of her life in Melbourne, including glamorous nights out and racy selfies.

She has grown up in the public eye, with her gangland father murdered when she was just 10 years old.

Williams was serving a 35-year sentence for the murder of three men when he was beaten to death with the stem of an exercise bike by another inmate.

His death came shortly after he agreed to provide information to the police in exchange for concessions from the authorities.

Williams helped police by providing valuable intelligence and leads relating to a number of unsolved murder cases.

Prior to his imprisonment, he was a key figure in Melbourne’s gangland war, which resulted in the deaths of 36 criminal figures between 1998 and 2010.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph ahead of her 21st birthday this year, Ms Williams said she didn’t want people to think she has “deadbeat” parents or that she was “going to be nothing”.

“It makes me so determined to want to prove people wrong because that is absolutely not how it is at all. Regardless of what my parents did or didn’t do, the bad things if that is what you want to call it, it doesn’t mean that I am any less of a person than someone else,” she said.

“I still have potential to be whatever I want to be, the world is my oyster. I can be whatever I want to be regardless of what people may or may not think of my family.”

Ms Williams described her relationship with her father during an interview with Channel Seven’s Sunday Night in 2016, remembering her time with him fondly.

“We know our dad as our dad, not what he’s described as in the newspapers … so we know him as fun and loving and caring for us, and always made us happy,” she said.

“If you spoke to him and got to know him, you’d think he’s not that sort of person, like, and you can tell he did it for his family ‘cause he was all for us, all for us family.

“It was just normal for me, that’s all I really knew.”

Ms Williams appeared in court earlier this year after allegedly being caught using her phone while driving.

According to court documents, she was intercepted by police while driving a black BMW down Alexandra Ave in Melbourne last August.

Police will allege she had her phone in her lap and was using the maps app at the time. She then produced a probationary licence.

Ms Williams refused to answer questions, including when police asked why she was using maps while driving, court documents state.

She faces a single charge of using a handheld mobile phone while driving.

She appeared via video link in Melbourne’s Magistrate Court in April and sought an adjournment to get paperwork in order.

Ms Williams is set to return to court this month.
