Court’s question for drug lord Carl Williams’ daughter Dhakota

Dhakota Williams, the daughter of slain underworld figure Carl Williams, was asked one burning question when she appeared in court.

On Guard: The killing of Carl Williams

The daughter of slain crime kingpin Carl Williams has been charged after she was allegedly caught using her phone while driving.

Dhakota Williams, 21, appeared via video link in Melbourne’s Magistrate Court on Wednesday and sought an adjournment to get paperwork in order.

“There’s a media application, do you know why?” Magistrate Graeme Keil asked.

“I don’t know,” she replied.

According to court documents, Ms Williams was intercepted by police while driving a black BMW down Alexandra Ave in Melbourne last August.

Police will allege she had her phone in her lap and was using the maps app at the time. She then produced a probationary licence.

Ms Williams refused to answer questions, including when police asked why she was using maps while driving, court documents state.

She faces a single charge of using a handheld mobile phone while driving.

Ms Williams celebrated her 21st birthday earlier this year.

Images surfaced on social media of the glamorous, all-pink affair at Melbourne’s ritzy Emerson rooftop club.

The party featured a personalised cocktail list and a giant wall feature covered with balloons.

Ms Williams has more than 30,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares snippets of her life, including penning a heartfelt message to her dad on Father’s Day last year.

Carl Williams was murdered in Barwon Prison in 2010 while serving a 35-year sentence for the murder of three men.

She was just 10 years old when he was beaten to death with the stem of an exercise bike by another inmate.

Dhakota Williams’ matter will return to court in June.
