Woman in her 40s taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after crash in Labrador

Police are investigating after a woman has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car crash on the Gold Coast.

Police are investigating after a car crash on the Gold Coast that left a woman hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the intersection of Government Rd and Central St in Labrador around 9.35pm on Wednesday.

A Gold Coast police spokesman said reports showed a Mitsubishi Mirage smashed into a set of traffic lights.

The 42-year-old driver from New Auckland was uninjured and returned a negative roadside test for alcohol and drugs.

A 47-year-old woman from Robina who was a passenger in the car was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
