A fashion-conscious thief managed to rob a Gold Coast home while the resident was awake in her lounge room.
A Biggera Waters woman, who asked not to be named, said a thief targeted her home on Annerley Ave about 1.40am Thursday.
She said the thief slipped under the radar and managed to sneak in and out of the home without being detected.
“I was awake in the lounge room,” the resident said.
“They only managed to get into my son’s room, stole his clothes and his passport.
“I thought it was my son coming home.”
The woman described the offender as an adult man “with a beard and a full leg tat”.
She said the thief stole a Gucci hat, other brand label clothing, a wallet and a passport.
CCTV footage supplied by the homeowner showed a man walking through a car port.
He was seen leaving a short time later while clutching an arm full of clothes.
The Gold Coast has been hit with a spate of break-ins and attempted break-ins over the past month.
Most notably, video emerged on Tuesday of professional fighter Casey Caswell chasing two teens after they tried to break into his Benowa Waters home.
Concerned residents have also sought private security to patrol their streets after a string of shocking incidents involving teenage offenders.
