Traffic flowing again after a truck jackknifed and hit a ute causing delays on Gold Coast M1 southbound

TRAFFIC is flowing again after an afternoon of traffic nightmare. Motorists were stuck in more than 8km of gridlock when a truck jackknifed and hit a ute on the M1 this afternoon.

A TRUCK carrying heavy machinery has jackknifed and collided into a ute on the M1 southbound this afternoon, causing significant delays.

The crash which happened around 2.40pm at Coomera is causing gridlock from Oxenford to Coomera.

It is believed the truck carrying heavy machinery jackknifed and collided into the ute in the slow lane.

Police are on the scene but Queensland Ambluance Services said there are no reported injuries.

It is the second major crash to hit the Gold Coast stretch of the M1 today.
