Shocking CCTV footage from Queensland Police show thieves smashing their way through an Upper Coomera supermarket window and taking items from behind the counter.

Thieves smash their way into Upper Coomera business

Two thieves dressed in all black can be seen in the video breaking the window of the store on Reserve Rd with what looks to be a hammer.

Footage from inside the building show the hammer is again used to smash open a glass window display behind the store’s counter before items are stolen and the thieves escape.

Investigations are taking place by police to see if two separate break and enters in Upper Coomera overnight are linked.

Around 1.30am an attempt was made to enter a closed service station at Commercial Street in Upper Coomera by smashing the glass front doors.

The attempt to gain entry was unsuccessful and nothing from the service station was stolen.

Just 20 minutes later a supermarket on Reserve Road was broken into with a glass window smashed at the front of the store.

A number of cigarettes were stolen from a glass window display that had been broken open.

The incidents took place not far from each other in Upper Coomera.

Detectives are investigating links between the two offences and ask anyone who saw suspicious activity in these areas around the time of the incidents to contact police at Policelink or through Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
