A MAN believes he may have captured a UFO on camera flying across Gold Coast’s south this morning.
Gabriel Rosa was standing on his balcony at Garrick Street in Coolangatta about 6.30am when he noticed an unidentifiable object soar northerly across the sky.
“I woke up, made a coffee and walked to my balcony as I do every morning,” he told the Bulletin.
“(My wife and I) live in a quiet complex … There are lots of different bird species around here. I always walk there to see the day and the birds.

“When I saw this object, it stopped flying when I first saw it.
“Initially I thought it was a bird until I saw the sun reflecting on it then started to move north really fast.
“Everything happened really fast. I think I saw it stopped for like three to five seconds when I saw it moving up and that caught my attention. I went to get my phone.
“Probably took another five to 10 seconds until I started the phone camera. At this stage it was already moving north (at) speed.
“It stopped, then moved up north and went behind the trees.”
Mr Rosa doesn’t believe it was a drone as “drones are not allowed here because of the proximity to the airport”.

“I don’t wanna be alarmist on this, especially because I’m not sure what it was. I just wanted to share so someone else can keep the record too,” he said.
In the video, there is the sound of an aeroplane in the background which Mr Rosa said was an “aircraft flying behind” the home and wasn’t the one he was filming.
UFO Research Queensland Australia – who believe extraterrestrial vehicles are flying through our atmosphere, landing on the ground and entering our oceans – did not have any record of this morning’s sighting.
A spokeswoman said “nothing had been reported on the Gold Coast in quite a while”.
