A controversial Gold Coast social media identity says he is “confused” after police raided his family home and “slammed him to the ground” – with what he claims is “no evidence”.

A controversial Gold Coast social media identity says he is “upset” and “confused” after police raided his family home and “slammed him to the ground” – with what he claims is “no evidence”.

The businessman and influencer dubbed Candyman 2.0, Troy ‘Candy’ Williams’ home was raided by police on Thursday night while he, his partner Anita and nine-month-old son Saint were asleep.

Mr Williams told the Bulletin police only found prescription pain killers which his friend had left behind. He said the raids left lots of damage to his home and his workplace.

He posted a video to his Instagram showing the damage resulting from the raid after police broke in his door with a battering ram.

“We heard really loud banging and thought we were being robbed,” Mr Williams said.

Footage shows his son Saint startled in his cot after hearing the noises from downstairs.

“I ran down stairs and it was the police,” he said.

“They slammed me to the ground in front of my fiance and my kid.
“They gave me a warrant for drug trafficking, which is absolutely ridiculous.
“I kept asking ‘why and what's happened’ and they said people had rang up on Crime Stoppers (and mentioned Troy’s name).”

On Thursday afternoon Queensland Police released a statement which advised detectives had raided multiple properties on the Coast, as a part of an active investigation.
A police spokesperson said no one was arrested as a result of the raids on Thursday.
Mr Williams told the Bulletin police only found prescription pain killers which his friend had left behind.
He said the raids left lots of damage to his home and his workplace.

“I don’t see how my mates painkillers are linked to an investigation,’ he said.

“We aren’t drug traffickers, never have and never will be.

“Our biggest concern now is the damage done to the front of our house.

“I think we are still in shock and we both didn't get much sleep last night.”

In response to a Bulletin question to Queensland Police directly about the raid on Mr Williams’ home, they sent this statement: “For privacy reasons we can’t search people by name and confirm whether or not they have been charged with a crime or are being investigated for a crime.”

The police response to the Bulletin also included the statement about the raids across multiple Gold Coast properties on Thursday.
