The owner of the Gold Coast’s newest hospitality precinct says business is booming, with the local appetite proving so strong he’s decided to open a fish and chippery.
Nobby Beach’s The Oxley developer Daniel Veitch said he had been “overwhelmed” by the support from the Gold Coast community since unveiling his hospo hub in December.
The development’s debut included the Oxley Village Grocer, Oxley Village Butcher, Oxley Village Deli and the Oxley 1823 Sub Station, alongside Bouy cafe, operated by Burleigh coffee honcho Brodie Green.
In January, Mr Veitch revealed another breakfast and lunch eatery called Sunkist Eatery.
The “foodie hotspot” features chilli scrambled eggs, chicken gravy rolls, chicken parmigianas, and grilled bugs and prawns.
“Sunkist was really created in response to our community’s demand for more breakfast and lunch options,” Mr Veitch said.
“We’re so glad we can bring that for them.”
Mr Veitch said after “ongoing demand from locals” The Oxley would also launch a fish and chip shop
He said he would release the opening date and further details in coming months.
“Everything we’ve been hearing from the community is how much they’re loving the new additions to Nobby’s,” Mr Veitch said.
“It definitely goes to show that our locals were ready for a refresh and having the convenience of great food and coffee as well as groceries on their doorstep.”
Mr Veitch said they were turning over more than 6500 meals a week and more than 120kg of coffee at the popular Bouy.
“I think it is a good indicator of how busy we’ve been and an indication of future trade within the precinct,” he said.
Mr Woodward said the venue, which was yet to be named, would open in mid 2024.
Mr Veitch said it was one of “a number of exciting new hospitality venues we’re bringing to the Oxley this year”.
