The Lucky Squire brewhouse in Broadbeach preparing to open

The highly anticipated The Lucky Squire, a two-storey brewhouse, restaurant and bar, is set to open on the Gold Coast next week.Here’s all the details, including COVID safe changes - and your first look inside.

AN EXCLUSIVE two-storey brewhouse is set to open on the Gold Coast next week.

The Lucky Squire restaurant, bar and microbrewery is preparing for their grand-opening next Tuesday June 16.

Gold Coasters have been eagerly awaiting for the venue at Broadbeach’s Oracle Boulevard to open for the last three years.

Venue manager Mark Dixon said he can’t wait to open the doors to the public.

“It's an exciting venue filled with food, craft beer, live entertainment and good service seven days a week,” he said

“It will definitely bring new life into Broadbeach.

“It’s been a long time coming. We are on the last hurdle before we open and we are pumped for it to finally be unveiled.”

The venue, which is a nod to legend James Squire and the only location on the Coast with the full James Squire beer range on tap, will feature a 14.5m long bar, a fully functioning onsite brewery, woodfire oven, upstairs mezzanine bar area overlooking Victoria Park, live music and seating for more than 550 people.

There will be 11 beers on tap, including two beers that will be exclusively crafted on site for the venue.

With stage two COVID-19 restrictions still in play, the brewhouse will only have capacity for up to 100 people (20 per defined area) and there will be a limited menu.

The Lucky Squire head chef Gavin Hughes, a Byron Bay cook who featured as a celebrity guest on MasterChef in 2018, has curated the menu.

At the moment it will feature pizzas, grilled steaks, locally sourced vegetables and proteins cooked over the woodfire and burgers.

However, the a la carte menu will be enhanced as COVID restrictions ease.

The brewery has been handed over commission today – they will start brewing soon.

Bookings are recommend via OpenTable but they will accommodate walk-in’s.

The Lucky Squire located at 3 Oracle Bvd, Broadbeach will be opened from 10am to 10pm daily.
