A teenage boy has suffered serious burns after an accelerant was thrown on a fire at a private property on the Gold Coast.

Paramedics were called to an address in Palm Beach around 7.30pm Saturday following the incident, which was understood to have involved a fire pit.

The boy was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with burns to his face, neck, chest, arm and legs.

Another person was taken to Gold Coast Robina Hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the fire was being treated as an accident and they were not investigating.

Then on Sunday two patients were airlifted about 3.20pm after suffering burns from a fire at Wyaralong Dam in the Scenic Rim.

Both were transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, with one of the victims, a woman, with serious burns to her body.

No further details of the incident were available.
