Tammara Macrokanis, a mother-of-five from Casino, New South Wales, was walking along the M1 at Coomera when she was struck on Saturday October 17.
Her mother, Penney Macrokanis, posted in a Coomera community Facebook page pleading with people to come forward if they had any dashcam footage, or information from the night of the crash.
“This was the night my daughter was killed in the pedestrian accident between Pimpama and Coomera exits,” she wrote.
“Even if you think you might have seen even the slightest thing I’m begging you to please … come forward … our family is in pain and we are still seeking answers so my daughter can rest at ease.”
Kaine Andrew Carter, 31, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and while adversely affected, disqualified driving and driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle in connection to the incident.
His matter was mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will next be heard on November 10.
Tammara Macrokanis’s body was found at 9.30pm on October 17 between exits 49 and 54 on the M1, several kilometres away from a “dangerously parked car”, after a search by the police helicopter Polair.
A police spokesman said it was believed she had been walking on the side of the highway when she was hit by a vehicle.
Penney Macrokanis wrote to Facebook at the weekend: (One) week on and I still can’t believe you’re gone … s**t is getting real now … Why does this have to be like this …”
In another post, she wrote: “It is so damn hard looking at pics of you knowing you’re now gone forever Tammara but at the same time it’s comforting remembering you for the caring loving crazy outrageous and quirky person you were.
“You may be gone but in no means will you ever be forgotten. You have left us with 32yrs of weird and wonderful memories to help us get through the hard times we now face without you.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the mother-of-five’s funeral.
A man, speaking on behalf of the family, declined to comment yesterday.
