Tamborine Mountain Rd crash: Two adults, three children taken to hospital

Five people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in the Gold Coast hinterland, with children among the patients.

Five people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash at Tamborine.

Multiple ambulance crews rushed to the scene after two cars collided on Tamborine Mountain Rd at 4.05pm on Thursday.

Early reports suggested at least one of the people involved may have been trapped in a vehicle.

One patient was taken in serious condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, while the remaining patients were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The road was closed in the vicinity of the accident for almost two hours while police investigated what happened and directed traffic away from the scene.
