The City is seeking feedback from the public on concept designs to revitalise Surfers Paradise including Cavill Mall, Cavill Avenue and the Esplanade.
Council has committed $40m over the next five years to fund the first stage of the revitalisation plan.
Mayor Tom Tate said the proposed revitalisation will help the public rekindle a love of Surfers Paradise.
“The upgrades will build community pride, improve small business opportunities and support tourism in the Surfers Paradise area.” he said.
Division 10 Councillor Darren Taylor said it was important for everyone to have their say during the consultation process.
“We want to make sure we’ve got family here but it’s also a night-time economy … so everyone needs to give their input and hopefully we can make Surfers shine again.” he said.
The proposed designs include more greenery and beachside pavilions as well as more seating, meeting places and safe spaces for families.
Pop-up consultation sessions will be held right across the city including Surfers Paradise, HOTA Markets, Pimpama Sports Hub and Mudgeeraba.
Community consultations will end on September 26.
