POPULAR music festival Splendour in the Grass has officially been cancelled.

Organisers of the Byron Bay festival originally postponed the event, which was originally due to take place in July, to October 23-25 for the event’s 20th anniversary.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, they have now pulled the pin for this year.

“After a great deal of consideration and with the interest of our beloved fans front and centre, Splendour in the Grass will move the 20th Anniversary event forward to July 2021,” they said on Facebook.

“We intend to re-book as many of the 2020 artists as possible and we have started to work through that process.

“We can’t wait to see you all in 2021 for the biggest birthday celebration of all time.”

Tickets purchased for Splendour in the Grass 2020 will be valid for entry next year.
