A 17-year-old Southport boy is the third person to be arrested after three teens were bashed and robbed of their shoes in Palm Beach on Saturday night.

The Southport boy was arrested in Surfers Paradise about 2pm Wednesday and was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery in company and stealing.

He was due to face children’s court at a later date.

A 13-year-old Mudgeeraba boy and a 15-year-old boy were also arrested earlier this week and dealt with under the Youth Justices Act.

About 7pm, a group of teenagers attended a beach party at Palm Beach near Pirate Park.

Police alleged a group of youths approached the gathering and, during separate incidents, assaulted three teenage boys before fleeing on foot.

About 9.15pm, a 15-year-old Elanora boy was punched in the nose and suffered a broken left leg.

A 15-year-old Burleigh Heads boy suffered facial injuries.

Both boys had their Nike shoes stolen and were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

About an hour later at 10.15pm, a third 15-year-old boy suffered bruising and grazes before his Nike shoes were stolen.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

It came after disturbing video emerged of a gang of 10 youths responsible for one of the three teen bashings.

Sickening footage uploaded to social media showed a frenzied group punching and kicking at a helpless youth lying on the sand as others cheered them on.

One teen yelled “take his shoes” while another screamed “take his drink out of his pocket”.

The victim was cowering in the sand holding his head before he was knocked out cold with blood pouring from his face.

A male teen wearing a green hoodie intervened yelling ‘Oi!’, stepped over the youth and stopped the violence before rolling him over.

“Oh, he’s out,” one teen was heard saying in the video.

A young girl rushed to the unconscious boy and cradled his head on the sand, screaming “who the f--- did this?”

Superintendent Geoff Sheldon said another six or seven youths had watched it unfold.

Police believed the same group of youths was responsible for both assaults.

Supt Sheldon said the victims did not recognise their attackers.

“We are canvassing the local area to see if we can find out who these kids are,” he said.

“It is basically a random group roaming the area picking fights and on this occasion it has had some serious consequences.”.

Investigations continue to track down the other members of the group.

Anyone with information or footage of the incident, or those involved, are urged to come forward immediately.

Anyone with information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.
