PARENTS of a baby who contracted meningococcal in Thailand earlier this year have been dealt another cruel blow — after finding thieves had made off with wrapped presents on Christmas Day.
The family of nine-month old Lilliana Sheridan were looking forward to spending Christmas together at a Nerang family home.
The group were in high spirits as their baby girl had recently been released from hospital in good health – a massive turnaround from just two months ago, when doctors feared they would have to amputate her legs.

However instead of spending a carefree Christmas morning together the family woke to a rude surprise, finding they had been robbed of a number of presents.
“On Christmas Eve someone broke into our house and stole all the presents in my sister’s car,” Lilliana’s mother Elisha Robinson said.
Ms Robinson said she was furious to have discovered the Christmas Day ruined after spending weeks in hospital.
“My family did not deserve this to happen to us, especially after all we have been through this year,” she said.
“Please if you stole the presents or somehow know who did please have it in your heart to return them.
“There is a sick little girl who was looking forward to Christmas and luckily wasn’t old enough to understand what had happened.”

Lilliana’s father Jai Sheridan said the family had opened a number of presents together under the tree at his mother-in-law’s home before they discovered the robbery.
“It is just unbelievable that someone would do that, they only took the presents, nothing else,” he said.
“There were probably $1500 worth of presents stolen from the car.
“It is a dampener on things, to find out that someone from our family had been robbed literally on Christmas Day.”
The family said they had reported the theft to police.
Police say a number of incidents took place in the suburb over the Christmas period.
